CNDA Car Numbers Rally
May 18th 2003 at Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire |
The 2003 CNDA (Cherished Numbers Dealers Association) Number Plate Rally was held at Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire to mark the centenary of British vehicle registration numbers.
All of the vehicles that attended were organised into their corresponding classes as they arrived. Trophies were then awarded to the favourites, with everyone who turned up being able to cast a vote. A few of the cars were parked in the wrong categories, and some even went on to win awards as a result of this. J20 JON and H1 PEK both won a 3rd prize, although neither won it in Class K where they started?
Special awards were also made at the end for the Most Votes, Most Valuable, Dealers Choice, and a Contribution Award. CLICK HERE to see these winners.
Several CNDA number plate dealers were at the event together with Registration Numbers Club who were signing up a few new members. The weather for the day was forecast as wetter than wet, hence a few dark photo's, but during the afternoon it brightened up and a good day was had by all.
Looking around there was well over 2 million pounds worth of number plates on display, and everyone had the decency to fetch there cars along too! There was a glut of Mercedes at the event (this could be due to the fact these owners are more badge conscious, or there could simply be a higher proportion of Mercedes owners with private plates). Vauxhall Corsas were also in high attendance and several Range Rovers were sporting some of the more prestigious plates.
The photo below shows 6 of the one letter, one number registrations all parked in a row, is this a record? |
