ROYAL / STATE CARS WITH NO NUMBER PLATES |
A fleet of State Cars consisting of Bentleys, Rolls Royces and Daimler Limousines is provided for use by the Queen and other members of the Royal family as well as for use by visiting dignitaries.
These cars are provided for use on official engagements and state visits and are unique in the fact that they are not required to display any registration number on the front or rear of the vehicle. (Making them more than important enough to appear in this Number Plate site!). Although the Daimler Limo's and the monarch's personal vehicles and those belonging to other members of the Royal Family do display registration numbers.
The state vehicles are usually used throughout the UK for visits by the Queen.
The Queen will quite often fly to her destination to be met by the Royal Cars on arrival, then they are used for the 'official visit' part of the journey. The vehicles are also flown around the world and used when the Queen is travelling abroad.
The State cars are all instantly recognisable in their Royal Claret Livery.
HM The Queen's Bentley State Limousine (6.75 Litre Twin-Turbo V8) (1 of 2 Bentley State Limousines. The first of which was presented to The Queen to celebrate her Golden Jubilee) The photo shows the Bentley carrying the unique mascot of St. George slaying the dragon. (see below for more info). (The mascot can be moved from one car to another car in the fleet.) |
